Pamper Yourself with Sauna Massage Therapy
A visit to a sauna massage therapy spa is a great way
to pamper yourself. All you need to do is to lie down on a table and let the
therapist do his or her work. There are different types of therapies
available that include the Swedish, shiatsu and deep tissue massage. Some
spas even offer acupuncture or a sauna room bath for additional relaxation
after being massaged.
A relaxing Swedish massage is said to improve circulation and joint
mobility. The client lies undressed on a table covered by towels and lets
the therapist work the body with a lubricating, scented oil or lotion.
Relaxing music and candles enhance the atmosphere in the room. Clients may
continue with a sauna bath.
Shiatsu is a form of acupressure. The therapist massages specific areas of
the body using pressure applied by the fingers, thumb and palm. By applying
pressure along the meridian lines of the body, energy blockages are opened.
Both the sauna bath and the shiatsu room therapy improve blood circulation
and aid in the release of toxins from the body.
Deep tissue massaging targets the body’s deeper muscles. The therapist uses
slower strokes and extra pressure is applied, a process some may find
uncomfortable at first. There are other sauna room therapies that include
hot stone massage, reflexology and lesser known therapeutic applications and
baths to benefit the body structurally or physiologically.
Owners of home saunas already know that regular
sauna bathing is like having a massage therapist at home. Improved blood
circulation and detoxification are some of the most notable benefits of both
Finnish and in particular infrared saunas
and massaging. In addition, you can avail yourself of aromatherapy oils and
applications involving volcanic healing clay in conjunction with your
sauna steam room bath.
