2-Person Home Sauna
Build a 2-Person Home Sauna from a Kit
A small 2-person home sauna with an electric or
infrared heater doesn’t take up much space and is ideal for just the two of
you. A prefabricated home sauna or a do-it-yourself kit requires some
assembly, but the detailed instructions that come with these kits make the
project as simple as following the step-by-step plans.
A do-it-yourself sauna kit for 2 persons can be put together by someone with
low skill levels in a couple of hours, eliminating the need for major home
renovations. A typical kit includes pre-built and pre-fitted wall and
ceiling panels, benches, backrests and the floor boards. Doors and windows
are pre-hung and easy to install. You won’t need an electrician in most
cases, as the kit will come with a pre-wired electric or infrared
sauna room heater.
Make sure you know the difference between a
precut sauna kit and pre-built
modular saunas when you compare kits for 2-person saunas. Precut kits
require a lot more work on your part, as the kit contains only the material
for the inside of the home sauna. You will have to build an insulated frame
or use an existing room for its installation. Plan on spending 2 to 3 days
to complete such a project, if you are doing it yourself.
Pre-built kits or prefabricated home
saunas are freestanding units that require only basic or low skill
levels and are easy to set up in 1 – 2 hours. These are the do-it-yourself
kits you should look for in a 2-person sauna that is completely
self-contained. They are easy to set up and fit into the corner of a
bathroom, bedroom or the basement.
A small 2-person sauna will limit you in your choice of heaters. Most
do-it-yourself kits use wall mounted electric heaters appropriately sized
for the dimensions of your sauna room. Far
infrared portable home saunas use ceramic infrared heaters that are
built into the walls for direct heat transfer to the body.
